Favorite Travel Books
Bill Bryson is my all-time favorite travel writer; no, he is my all time favorite writer. Born in Iowa, Mr. Bryson lived for many years in the UK and has travelled extensively. He has written books about travelling through the UK, the US, Europe, Africa and Australia. He has hiked the Appalachian Trail and written about it. He has written books about the English language, about the history of science and about Shakespeare. His travel books are witty to the point where you laugh out loud and they are full of interesting facts and observations. His “non-travel books” are just as fun to read and are very well researched. If you have ever travelled to any of these places or are planning to travel there, pick up these books.UK: Notes from a Small IslandUS: Lost Continent and I’m a Stranger Here MyselfEurope: Neither Here Nor ThereAfrica: Bill Bryson’s African DiaryAustralia: Down UnderImage from amazon.comWhat are your favorite travel books?
