Quality of Life

by Jean Mercedes on November 7th, 2007

I have always told people that Munich is a great place to live, but why believe me, now it is official: Monocle Magazine has determined that Munich offers the highest quality of life of all cities in the world.

Tyler Brulé of Monacle acknowledges that the survey is part scientific and part subjective, but they certainly looked at factors which rank high on my list: International, long-haul connections, crime rates, state education, health care, hours of sunshine, average temperature, amount of green space and so on.

The Top 20 cities are:

  • Munich
  • Copenhagen
  • Zurich
  • Tokyo
  • Vienna
  • Helsinki
  • Sydney
  • Stockholm
  • Honolulu
  • Madrid
  • Melbourne
  • Montreal
  • Barcelona
  • Kyoto
  • Vancouver
  • Auckland
  • Singapore
  • Hamburg
  • Paris
  • Geneva

You can find the original articles at Monacle, but you need to be a subscriber to access more than just a summary.
